Please find steps below: Reconnect with senses At a time when you will not be distracted by phone etc, ensure that you have 5 minutes to yourself. I find the best way is to stand in the garden. Relax those areas that may be tense: neck, back, bum, shoulders or wherever. You are going to go through your senses. Imagine that you are looking at yourself from a window in your house. This called dissociation Spend  30 seconds noticing what you see, and flavour it: is it moving? Notice your response from your window Next, what can you hear? Traffic, voices, seagulls etc Check you are still relaxed Then what can you smell? Any cooking, your perfume, oil, flowers etc. Now Taste. Can you taste anything? A bit of sugar on your lips from breakfast, your lipstick Then, what can you feel? The wind? The sun? etc Check relaxation again Finally Emotions. How are you? Any strong emotions? They usually settle at the base of your spine. Are you conscious of anything there? I found that bad emotions, stress, anxiety collected there and then bubbled up and dispersed. Result:  So much better.   Interview with Dan O’Connell.

Dan introduces a profound and simple technique for reducing stress.

Please find steps below:

Reconnect with senses

At a time when you will not be distracted by phone etc, ensure that you have 5 minutes to yourself. I find the best way is to stand in the garden.

Relax those areas that may be tense: neck, back, bum, shoulders or wherever. You are going to go through your senses.

Spend  30 seconds noticing what you see, and flavour it: is it moving? Notice your response from your window

Next, what can you hear? Traffic, voices, seagulls etc

Check you are still relaxed

Then what can you smell? Any cooking, your perfume, oil, flowers etc.

Now Taste. Can you taste anything? A bit of sugar on your lips from breakfast, your lipstick

Then, what can you feel? The wind? The sun? etc

Check relaxation again

Finally Emotions. How are you? Any strong emotions? They usually settle at the base of your spine. Are you conscious of anything there? I found that bad emotions, stress, anxiety collected there and then bubbled up and dispersed.

In this week's podcast, we explore this life-changing idea that is good for us until they are not.

We discover that the right label can help us become more outgoing, advantages and productive. That labels shape how our unconscious minds process's information.

Find the right label, you can bend reality.

How labels give us structure that we can then grow as a human.

We will also explore the dark side of labels and how they can affect every area of your life negatively.

This is when our NLP skills come into play. We finish the podcast with two questions that open possibilities.

NLP Podcast 51 – NLP & Relationships Part 2 https://nlpcourses.com/nlp-podcast-51-nlp-relationships-part-2/ Thu, 15 Dec 2016 06:08:39 +0000 http://nlpcourses.com/?p=3658 Relationships are just like a parts integration Keeping in mind that everyone is always making the best decision available to them, they are in a relationship because it is their best option. Not because it is, but because they view it as so. If we chunk up a person’s behavior compared to another person’s behavior (two parts of the parts integration) then we can come to their highest intent in a relationship. This should always be to have a successful relationship, as it will contribute to them living better, surviving better, or living more abundantly. Chunked down people may be with someone to hide insecurities, get over pain, or many others, but the highest intent of those will be to live better. This is only how they view themselves living better. They may be in a destructive relationship, but they view the net gain from making the change and leaving as more painful and less pleasurable than staying. If ever the two highest intentions of a relationship don’t match (live successfully, raise children appropriately, etc.) then this is sign that the two should break up. When you do chunk up to the highest intention you can use this to come to agreement with your partner. Example: John just wants to raise successful kids as do you. John does it this way and you do it this way. “How is it that you guys can come together to raise the kids more successfully?” Anchoring others People are always anchoring emotions and feelings to you and their experience of you. Make the emotions as positive as you can. Avoid fighting Talk about happy uplifting things. Coming home from work and complaining is only going to anchor negative feelings to you. Spending more time away from each other, and aiming for generally only happier times together is a good idea. It can take just one event or experience to anchor negative emotions to yourself in the way that another person experiences you. This means trauma, lying, and deceit done only one time in a large emotional burst that impacts another can have a strong association to yourself. The success or failure of this one area will largely impact every area of your life tremendously. 1.) Pre-Supposition: “Everyone is always making the best choice available to them based on their available options.” Find out how it is their best option and you can come to understanding. Use perceptual positions. Discover empathy Ask the questions that count. Also you can learn to predict their behavior, which could allow you to influence. Wife gets off work late, what does she want? Husband forgets to take out the trash, how can you inspire events that will make remembering to natural and easy? While dating you understand how a woman is generally bombarded with neediness. How can you demonstrate that you understand this and convey that she won’t get this with you? It will leave you with compassion and understanding. They weren’t trying to harm you with their behavior. That is just how they knew best to get what they wanted. Example: Guy that cuts you off in traffic was on the way to the hospital. You know don’t know the other battles that people are facing. 2.) Chunked up language for agreement A lot of people are talking about politics and I actually had a friend ask me how he could get out of disagreements with new people. Largely disagreements are only happening when focusing on finite, chunked down details of larger discussions. As we learned in rapport, we are generally going to want to connect with others and build rapport far more often than we are going to want to disagree and argue. It just serves our outcomes and theirs better. There is a time and a place for disagreement. Do this by taking the specific argument. It could be something as, “As I hate this political candidate because of x [financial policies for instance].” Then take that argument and chunk up the language, “Yes I think it’s important that [our country is able to prosper financially].” What you are doing here is making it difficult for someone to disagree with you. Hard to argue for someone wanting to be worse off financially as a nation. They are very likely to agree and you can build connection from there. It’s true to you. I don’t want you lying to connect with someone, and connecting on higher ideas, more important ideas, is going to be far more beneficial.
